With an 8-inch head stretched across a solid brass tone ring, the BG-MINI produces a satisfactory tone and volume. Its scale length is 19-3/4 inches, and it tunes up to the key of C with standard gauge strings. When played in its open position (without a capo), it feels and sounds as if a capo is used at the fifth fret of a full-size banjo.

If you need to tune the BG-MINI to standard G when playing with others, the string gauges can be changed to the following: .016, .034, .024, .019, .016.
